EGJ – Trashy Thursday #1
Hi sweet friends and welcome to my very first Trashy Thursday post! I’m so happy you are here and can’t wait to share with you how I turn thrift store ugly ducklings into fabulous Trashy Treasures.
I have been hitting the thrift stores near my house the past few weeks and have found some decent trash to work on. If you know me, you know that trash makes me happy. Below are a couple of befores and afters of my finds.
First up are these cute little silver trays. I was on the search for some silver platters to make a silver platter wreath for my dining room. Down in the basement of the antique store I lucked up and found stacks and stacks of silver. I found some cute smaller ones that were a bit too heavy for my wreath but I thought they would make super cute little trinket trays. I gave them all a good bath and got to work. They are now ready to hold some pretty little things!
Next up, are some things that I have painted and saved from the dumpster or made from scrap wood. I started these projects before I thought about taking before photos.
While I was in the antique mall looking for silver trays, I ran across a group of ladies that were clearly not social distancing and did not have on masks. As a matter of fact, they did not have on anything! Imagine running across this group (there were at least 20 more) in the basement of an antique shop. I turned the corner and was met by them. Looks like this one was trying to remind them to stay 6 feet apart.
Thanks for stopping by. Stay safe out there. See you next week!
